Cancun reef diving tour
Cancun reefs diving is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, also popularly known as the Great Mayan Reef, is a marine region that stretches over 1,000 km. (620 mi.) from Isla Contoy (at tip of the Yucatán Península) down to Belize, Guatemala and the Bay Islands of Honduras. The reef system includes various protected areas and parks.
There are numerous species that live in and around the reef system. It is home to more than 65 species of corals, 350 species of mollusk, and more than 500 species of fish, you can find all of these in Cancun reefs!
Manchones reefs (big and small), Jardines de Manchones and the Underwater Museum, located in front of the Bahia de Mujeres (Bay of Women) is an ideal location for divers who want an easy and relaxing diving experience with a depth of 8 – 10 mts. / 26 – 33 ft. If you are interested in shallow dives check MUSA.
For something more challenging, we focus this activity on Punta Cancun reefs located outside of the bay with a depth of 15-17 mts. / 50 – 56 ft.: San Toribio, Ginas, San Miguel, La Herradura, Punta Negra, El tunel, Aristos (La Iglesia), Grampin; these dive sites offer beautiful coral formations and sea life in and around the reefs.
